About Kava
To many people around the world, kava is new. But in the South Pacific, islanders have been enjoying kava and it’s many benefits for thousands of years. Kava or kava-kava is a plant in the pepper family that originates from the South Pacific Islands. The root of this special plant is harvested, dried and ground into a powder and then sometimes into a paste. It is then used to make a form of tea, generally drank cold. Kava is all natural and over the past few years has gained popularity in the US as an all natural way to lower stress and help with sleep issues. Drinking kava is an important part of cultural and traditional religious ceremonies as well as different, important village social gatherings. For many years, kava has also been prepared and drank for a variety of health reasons and medicinal purposes.
